1. Bhooma, noun = INFINITUDE

2. Bhooma Devi = Hindu goddess representing Mother Earth

Inspired by the Hindu goddess Bhooma - Mother Earth, she of infinite and universal creative variety - this project and album brings together my own compositions inspired by jazz and Asian musics alongside works by composers from across the globe. From Indian textures to Persian rhythms to the intimacy of a late-night jazz club, my pieces draw upon some of my strongest current influences. Alongside these are works by my late teacher, the legendary Peter Feuchtwanger, a new commission from American composer Stephen Montague, an interpretation of Somei Satoh's Incarnation II and George Frederic Handel's beautiful opening Adagio from the Suite in F major HWV 427. This is a diverse collection that comes together as a whole because of the connections of texture, tone and expression - not standard constructs and conventions based on time, tradition and places of origin.

The album 'BHOOMA' is due for release in 2018.
